Big is Beautiful

Francesca turned four months old on Monday. She is in the 97th percentile for her height and weight. She is as big as a six month old. She's actually been wearing size 6-9mo clothes since she turned three months old - and really, she's outgrowing some of those (it's her legs). She's a big girl, like her momma. Her doctor said she won't be shopping in the petite section. Boy, I know it. She has broad shoulders like her big brother and big chunky thighs like...like Francesca. Even her doctor stole a squeeze of those chunky legs.

Francesca is our first baby that really looks like me. She's white like me, she's chunky like me, she has dimples like me, and she doesn't look like her dad. She's also my first thumb sucker. I know, I know. But you know what? I don't care. It's so cute!



Jacob looked a lot like me when he was a baby. But Francesca is a girl and therefore, by default, she looks more like me. When you look at Jacob now, you can see his resemblance to my male cousins. Katelyn looks like James. Period. She actually looks a great deal like one of James's nieces.



How can you resist smiling at that crinkle nose? You can't.
