The Weekend

It was a wonderful Mother's Day weekend. I didn't go to the spa, I didn't get a pedicure, I didn't get any alone time. So what did I get? Blessed. I got blessed.

I hung out with my kids and their cousins on Saturday morning while my husband was at work. I made some plumeria leis in the afternoon. And we all went to the Taste of the Marianas in the evening where my daughter's hula class performed with Alana'ia.

(I really liked how all of the performances were projected onto the big screen. I sat a ways back off the side of the stage - this is the best shot I could get.)

Because of the performance and such a late dinner afterward, the kids didn't get to bed until close to 10pm, which meant that James and I ended up staying up way too late watching movies. But, thankfully, we all slept in until about 8:30am on Sunday. Eight-thirty! Can you believe it?

We went for an easy late breakfast at Coffee Care and then spent a few hours in the crystal clear water at Hyatt beach. James cooked dinner while I sewed and the kids made Mother's Day cards for my mom and sister. The kids were asleep by their normal bedtime so James and I watched movies and ate cappuccino ice cream bars. We actually ate two ice cream bars each. Two! Oh my word. Word to your mother.

Happy Mother's Day, friends.
