Prayers for Faloma and Meleina

Dear Friends, terrible events take place all over the world all the time; and as child friendly as our community is, as great a place to raise children as it is, as family oriented as we are, apparently, Saipan is no exception.

Something terrible has happened in our small island community, two young girls are missing. They've been missing since last Wednesday. You can read about it here. Police and residents are working together to locate the girls and bring them to safety. Prayers for these young sisters are being offered around the clock.

Please join us in prayer for Faloma Luhk and Meleina Luhk, ten and nine years old, respectively. Here is today's article and also a FB prayer page for them.

If you know of any information about this, please come forward and contact our police or Crime Stoppers at 234-7272.

Bring The Kids

Now that one aspect of my life has become slightly more manageable, although it is still delicately teetering on the brink of insanity, I'm taking you back to the beginning of the year.

January marked mine and James's 6th wedding anniversary. Instead of doing our usual dinner at Raraina, we decided to spend a night at the Fiesta Resort and Spa. This would be my first ever night away from Jacob and, aside from Katelyn's sleepover at my sister's house, it would be my first night away from Katelyn for reasons other than hospitalization. I was looking foward to a nice relaxing night alone with my husband . . . and then James said he wanted to bring the kids. Yes, let's have a romantic anniversary getaway with the kids. The two young rambunctious children. Bring them. On our anniversary.

We brought them. They jumped on the bed and went out on the balcony. They checked out the mini-fridge and wore the complimentary slippers. And then we took them home and dumped them on my sister. Mwhahaha!

Just kidding about the evil laugh. I missed them dearly. But it was so nice to have an evening alone with my husband while not in the hospital.

P.s. I really liked the bathroom.

Thankful. Always.

How many times can you say that you thought you'd be a widow in your twenties? Me? Twice. Although, had that happened, it really wouldn't have been about me. I'm so thankful that God spared my husband again. And this time He revealed the cause to us.

I'm thankful for my husband, my children, and our family both on Saipan and abroad who supported us and prayed for us during this trying time. They are always in my prayers.

I'm thankful that we have a home. And I will pray for those who don't.

I'm thankful that we have jobs and our children go to a good school. And I pray that these organizations flourish and their students blossom.

I'm thankful I know the Lord, because nothing else really matters.

"Man is a mere phantom as he goes to and fro: He bustles about, but only in vain; he heaps up wealth, not knowing who will get it. But now, Lord, what do I look for? My hope is in you." ~Psalm 39:6-7 (NIV)

"Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life? ~Matthew 6:25-27 (NIV)
