Tiny Tannenbaum

I didn't want a big tree. But I could tell my mother did. I didn't want a fresh tree because they aren't sold in in mini sizes. But I know my mother prefers fresh.

One of the benefits of a fresh tree - perhaps the main benefit, is that beautiful wintery pine smell. But when you live in the tropics and your windows are open all day, you really only get to enjoy that lovely winter scent in the mornings once you wake and before you begin to open up the house. And that's also when the air is at its coolest, so you can make believe that you live somewhere where it isn't 87 degrees in the "winter".

Our house is spacious enough for an average size Christmas tree. But I'm pregnant enough to not want one.

It came pre-lit, but I added one more strand. I hung the gold garland and ribbon and the children hung the ornaments; we went with red and gold because that is we what have. I couldn't be happier with our tiny tree.

Perhaps the ribbon is a bit out of proportion. I suppose there should be one thing that's a bit off, aye?

Merry Christmas and happy holidays, friends.
