Last night was the first night of the 27th Annual Flame Tree Arts Festival. Tamara, Missy, and I were there. Where were you?
Because there was so much confusion in our initial conversations with the Arts Council, we registered for our booth late and ended way in the back. At the butt end. Seriously. There are two parts to the Festival - the main part and the butt part. We are the in the butt part (now say that with a Filipino accent). So we're away from the main action, but we are over near the live demonstrations and workshops - which were not happening last night.
Also near our booth, or should I say in our booth, the crosswalk. Yes, if you cross the street at the MHS cross walk, you'll walk right into our booth. I'm not happy about this. Would it really have been that difficult to break up the line of tents and move them down one and a half feet in both directions to allow a space for the pedestrians to enter the Festival while not intruding in my personal booth space which we paid $150 for?? I'm sorry pedestrians, but I'm blocking it off tonight. Please do not walk into the back of my booth.
Since it was the first night and we were feeling things out, our booth was pretty bare. We don't have much compared to the seasoned Flame Tree artists and other professional artists, but it was still fun and we garnered a lot of interest. Particularly from the station Missy set up where we'll teach you how to get started with knitting or crochet.
Our booth will be spruced up a little tonight so come check us out. We're next to the Fotten Gaga booth. But perhaps we aren't as cool as they are. We are only selling one kind of t-shirt:

5 words of wisdom:
It was great to finally put a face to the blog...and what a small world it is now that I know who you are.. :) I'm so upset right now though because I bought a loaf of bread to bring to work with my Mango Jam this morning so I could advertise your jam in my breakroom, and I left the house and forgot my jam : ( agggh!
Anyway, good luck with your booth..Im sure I will see you again sometime over the weekend!
Hi, good luck with the booth. I'm setting up Erdene's sewing machine space this afternoon, so she'll be into the crafty stuff by the time we visit. I know knitting is going to be next. We picked up a food processor, so hopefully we can wean the lad and have a little space for the crafty side of life. Enjoy the festival, I'm missing it already..
GES- we're the Fotten Nga'ngas! We're all so darn fotte. See you at the festival!
Your booth was nicely appointed and seemed to be drawing a good crowd when we were there on Saturday.
Things aren't so bad over there in Buttsville. You don't have to listen to the sometimes good, sometimes bad, sometimes awful music being played as fill between stage acts.
The jar of Papaya jam we bought is about half gone already. Great stuff. Thanks.
Tamara - It was great to meet you! Thanks for stopping by (unlike some other blogger that I watched ignore us twice...this person shall remain nameless;)
Big - Uh oh, are you prepared for what might happen when a woman discovers her crafty side?
Bon - We're the Fotten Mamas, as in the child rearing type, not the chewing type. ;)
Bruce - Thanks. I plan on writing more about it soon; I'm feeling like crap! Once the adrenalline rush died down after dinner last night and my stress level drastically dropped, I got sick. Seriously...you've got mangoes?
